3 Simple Ways to Bring Reiki Energy Into Your Everyday Life

ree

You don’t have to be a Reiki practitioner to invite Reiki energy into your day. Reiki is all around us—flowing through nature, breath, and intention. With just a few simple practices, you can start to tune into this energy and support your own healing between sessions.

Here are three gentle ways to work with Reiki energy in your everyday life—no experience needed, just an open heart and a willingness to connect.

1. Start Your Day with Reiki Hands + Breath

Reiki hand positions can be used for self-care, even if you haven’t been attuned. It’s all about intention.

Try this simple morning ritual:

  • Sit comfortably and take a few slow breaths

  • Place your hands gently over your heart or solar plexus (whatever feels natural)

  • As you breathe, silently say: “I invite in calm, clarity, and support.”

  • Stay for a minute or two, just letting your breath guide you

This daily check-in helps ground your energy, regulate your nervous system, and set the tone for your day.

2. Carry a Rune Charm or Symbol for Support

In my practice, I often combine Reiki with runes—archetypal symbols that carry specific energetic intentions. You can create your own personal rune charm, or simply draw a rune on a piece of paper to keep in your pocket or altar space.

A few favorites for everyday support:

  • Algiz (ᛉ) for protection and boundaries

  • Wunjo (ᚹ) for joy and emotional uplift

  • Raidō (ᚱ) for clarity on your path and forward movement

Take a moment to hold the symbol in your hand, take a breath, and ask, “What energy do I need today?” Even this small ritual can shift your awareness and intention.

3. End the Day with a Reiki-Inspired Body Scan

Before bed, try this calming practice to release tension and return to yourself.

  • Lie down or sit comfortably

  • Slowly bring awareness to each part of your body, starting from your feet up to your head

  • As you mentally “scan,” imagine warm light or gentle energy flowing to each area

  • If you feel stuck or tense energy somewhere, rest your hands there for a moment and breathe

You don’t have to “fix” anything—just hold space with compassion. This self-gentling is a form of Reiki in itself.

Reiki Is Everyday Energy

Reiki isn’t something that only happens in a treatment room. It’s a way of relating to your body, your breath, and your energy with care. Whether you’re lighting a candle, drawing a rune, or simply placing a hand on your chest during a stressful moment—that’s Reiki energy in motion.
